Modern motor vehicles today have a large number of control units. These control e.g. the active and passive safety components of the vehicles, the combustion engine, the battery charge or even the vehicle itself (autonomous driving). Today, the electronic components of a vehicle with associated software are the innovation drivers in vehicle development.
In the course of study Vehicle Mechatronics, you will focus on the fundamentals of motor vehicles and vehicle electronics:
- Basics of motor vehicles
- combustion engines
- Mechanical drive technology
- Electric drives and controls
- automotive engineering internship
- Mechatronic applications
- Microcontroller programming
- Alternative drives
- Sytems engineering
From the 5th to the 7th semester there are extensive options (5 modules) to deepen your knowledge and your own interests.
Career & Perspectives
In particular, interdisciplinary knowledge in the development of mechatronic systems is in demand today. Those who have mastered component design and programming are in great demand in the automotive industry. The added value lies increasingly in the electronic components of the vehicles. This also applies in the off-road sector for commercial vehicles, special vehicles and agricultural machinery.
